Globally Competent Teacher Practices in the Socially Just World Language Classroom
How can teachers capitalize on lessons learned to create engaging, inclusive, and just learning environments for all of their students to thrive as global citizens? Bringing forward lessons from the past three Summer Seminars of collaboration between CWLP and CGEP, the Global Strand teacher leaders developed the widely accepted Global Competence Unit Template. As schools begin to emerge from the challenges of a global pandemic, the Global Strand continues to focus on empathy, compassion, and social-emotional learning through the lens of equity and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Participants will transform a current instructional unit into a framework-aligned, social justice-driven unit utilizing the Template.
