Authentic Voices, Authentic Resources: Social-Emotional Learning and Social Justice in the French classroom

Understanding, incorporating, and implementing instructional units, which address the four domains of the Global Competence Framework, may seem challenging. How do we find, and organize, authentic resources around which to design empowering learning experiences? How do we support student voice and activism at the local and global levels? In this strand, we will investigate the Global Competencies Framework, as we design content-driven unit plans and activities which encourage inquiry and investigation. We will ensure that our units are aligned with the California World Language Standards and Framework. We will curate engaging authentic resources that support the goals for intercultural competency. And, we will encourage our students to be lifelong learners as they explore the diversity of the Francophone world.
